St. Paul'S Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. pork sausage, crumbled
    1 large green pepper, chopped
    1 large onion, chopped
    3 stalks celery, chopped
    1/2 c. raw rice
    2 large envelopes chicken noodle soup mix
    4 1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. slivered almonds, toasted
    grated cheese (optional)
Preparation
    In large skillet, brown sausage, pepper, onion and celery. Drain and set aside.
    In saucepan, combine rice, soup mix and water.
    Bring to boil and cook 7 minutes.
    Combine sausage mixture, rice mixture and almonds.
    Pour into 2-quart casserole dish.
    Top with cheese, if desired.
    Cover tightly and bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Serves 8 to 10.
