Doughnut Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. soft shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 1/2 c. plain flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 c. milk
    1 stick melted butter
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. brown sugar
Preparation
    Cream first 2 ingredients.
    Add egg and beat well.
    Mix and sift flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg.
    Add alternately with milk to egg mixture.
    Fill greased muffin tins 2/3 full.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.
    Remove at once and roll in melted butter, then in brown sugar and cinnamon mixture.
    Makes 12 medium sized muffins or 18 small ones.
