Bill'S Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 to 3 stalks celery, diced
    6 to 8 potatoes, cubed
    1 onion, diced
    1 to 2 carrots, shredded
    2 qt. boiling water
    2 doz. fresh clams with juice or 3 (6 1/2 oz.) cans
    1 pt. milk
    1 Tbsp. butter
    parsley to taste
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Boil vegetables in water about 1/2 hour or until soft.
    Add clams and juice.
    Cook fresh clams 8 to 10 minutes.
    Add milk, butter and spices to taste.
