Pickled Beets - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (No. 2) can whole baby beets
    vinegar to cover
    6 cloves
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 slice lemon
    1 slice onion
Preparation
    Drain beets; cover with vinegar.
    Add cloves, sugar, lemon and onion.
    Bring to a boil.
    Remove from heat; let stand for a few hours.
    Serve hot or cold.
