Students Ragout - cooking recipe
Ingredients

bacon, enough to cover skillet
1 lb. round steak
3 medium onions
2 medium carrots
3 medium potatoes
salt and pepper
mushrooms (8 oz. can)
1 c. cold water
1 green bell pepper
Preparation

Cut round steak in thin strips across grain.
Cut onions, carrots and potatoes into thick slices.
Prepare in an electric skillet with lid.
Cover skillet bottom with bacon, then layer meat over bacon. Layer onions, carrots, peppers and mushrooms. Potatoes go on last.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Cook on High for 3 minutes.
Add water and cover.
Cook 45 minutes on low heat.
