Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    potatoes, peeled and chopped
    1/2 large onion, chopped
    2 c. milk
    1/2 tsp. butter
    salt and pepper to taste
    shredded cheese (optional)
Preparation
    Cook potatoes and onion in water in saucepan until tender. Add milk, butter, salt and pepper.
    Heat to serving temperature. Add cheese to soup (optional) and let melt.
    Wonderful taste!
