Meringue - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/2 c. water
    3 egg whites, beaten
    4 Tbsp. sugar
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation
    Combine sugar, cornstarch and water.
    Cook until clear; cool. Beat egg whites; gradually add sugar.
    Whip.
    Pour in cooled mixture.
    Beat until very stiff, 5 minutes.
    Cover pie and bake at 400\u00b0 for 5 to 7 minutes.
    Put cream of tartar in egg whites.
