Orange Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    oranges, peeled and sectioned (enough to cover bottom of a baking dish)
    1 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 (5 oz.) can evaporated milk (not skim) plus water to make 2 c.
    2 to 3 slices white bread, broken up
    2 egg yolks
    egg whites (enough for meringue to cover dish)
    2 Tbsp. sugar (per egg)
Preparation
    Soak bread in milk/water mixture. Beat egg yolks well. Blend sugar and cornstarch in top of double boiler and cook 15 minutes, stirring often. Add egg yolks and cook 5 more minutes, stirring. Let custard cook and pour over orange sections. Prepare meringue and place on pudding. Put in a 300\u00b0 oven 12 to 15 minutes. Turn oven off and leave in oven another 15 minutes. Serve chilled.
