Apple Torte(From 1975 Edition) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 eggs
    3/4 to 1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 medium size apples
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    3/4 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Beat eggs and sugar together.
    Add flour, baking powder and salt, sifted together.
    Add apples (sliced), then add lemon juice and nuts.
    Bake in buttered 6 x 9 1/2-inch dish for 35 to 40 minutes in 350\u00b0 oven.
    Serve hot or cold with whipped cream, ice cream or hard sauce.
    Serves 4 to 6.
