Old-Fashioned Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine
    2 c. granulated sugar
    4 whole eggs
    3 1/2 c. plain flour
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 pt. blackberry jam
    1 box seedless raisins
    1 c. pecans
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
    Add jam and mix well.
    Add spices and milk; stir well.
    Add flour, one cup at a time.
    Mix well.
    Add raisins and nuts and stir by hand (do not use mixer).
    Bake in tube pan at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour, then at 300\u00b0 until done.
