Tamale Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. chopped onion
1 c. chopped green pepper
1 lb. ground lean beef
1 (No. 303) can tomatoes
1 (8 oz.) can tomato paste
1 (17 oz.) can whole corn
1 c. ripe olives, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tsp. salt
1 pepper
2 tsp. New Mex. chili pepper
1 1/2 c. sharp process cheese, shredded
3 c. yellow cornmeal
1/2 tsp. salt
6 c. cold water
1 Tbsp. butter or oleo
Preparation

Put cornmeal in stew pot with water and seasoning. Cook on low burner. Stir constantly. Don't allow lumps in mush.
Cook about 40 minutes. Cook onion and green pepper in a little hot fat until tender. Add meat and brown lightly.
Add all of the next 8 ingredients. Simmer 20 to 25 minutes until thick; set aside for now.
