Homemade Heath Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box saltine crackers (unsalted tops)
    1 c. butter
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 pkg. chocolate chips (1 lb. size)
    1 pkg. chopped pecans (optional)
Preparation
    Line a cookie sheet with foil, then coat with cooking spray. Place crackers in rows to fill the sheet (you probably won't use the whole box, so make chili, too!) Melt butter in a saucepan, and add brown sugar. Boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Pour syrup over crackers and spread gently to cover all of the crackers. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes. Remove and turn off oven. Sprinkle chocolate chips over top and place pan back in warm oven for 5 minutes until chocolate is melted. Spread chocolate evenly over crackers and top with pecans, if desired. Allow to cool completely, then cut (or break) into pieces.
