Boiled Beef With Horseradish Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 qt. boiling water
    1 bay leaf
    6 whole cloves
    1 small onion
    2 stalks celery
    2 Tbsp. vinegar
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    4 lb. fresh beef brisket
    potatoes
    carrots
    turnips
    1 can small onions, drained
    1 head cabbage, quartered
Preparation
    In large kettle or Dutch oven, combine first 8 ingredients. Simmer covered for 30 minutes.
    Add meat and continue to simmer covered for 3 1/2 to 4 hours.
    Replenish water if necessary.
