Bread 'N' Butter Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 qt. pickling cucumbers, thinly sliced
1/3 c. pickling salt (not iodized)
ice
6 medium onions, sliced thin
2 green peppers, chopped
3 c. sugar
3 c. cider vinegar
1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
2 Tbsp. mustard seed
Preparation

Layer sliced cucumbers with salt and ice.
Stir.
Let soak 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
While soaking, prepare onions and peppers.
Mix sugar, vinegar and spices together in large heavy pan. Cook syrup to dissolve. Drain salt water off cucumbers. Add cucumbers, onions and peppers to syrup. Bring to a boil.
