Red Pasta Fagioli(Calabrese Style) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 large can tomato sauce
1 medium can tomato paste
2 Tbsp. parsley
2 Tbsp. garlic, minced
2 Tbsp. basil
2 Tbsp. oregano
2 bay leaves
3 Tbsp. sugar
1 can Great Northern beans
Parmesan cheese
1 loaf Italian bread
3/4 c. cooked vermicelli, broken in 1-inch pieces
Preparation

Mix together tomato sauce and paste with equal amounts of water in pan; add next 6 spices.
Bring to a boil and simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
Add Great Northern beans and cooked vermicelli (if sauce is too thick, thin with water used to cook vermicelli). Pour into bowls.
Season with Parmesan cheese.
Dip buttered Italian bread in soup and enjoy.
