Hungarian Kossuth Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 lb. butter or margarine
    6 eggs, separated (whites beaten stiff)
    1 c. sugar
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening until smooth.
    Add egg yolks, 2 at a time.
    Add flour and baking powder.
    Beat egg whites stiff. Fold into mix until blended.
    Pour into lightly greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes until spongy.
    Do not overbake.
