Sausage Cocktail Balls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. extra lean pork sausage
    1 (7 oz.) can water chestnuts, drained and finely chopped
    2 eggs
    3/4 c. dry bread crumbs
    1/2 tsp. leaf basil
    sauce
Preparation
    Thoroughly combine all ingredients except sauce; mix well. Shape into bite-size meatballs.
    Place on rack of broiler pan. Bake in preheated 425\u00b0 oven for about 15 minutes; drain well. Place browned sausage in lightly greased crock-pot.
    Cover and cook on low setting for 5 to 6 hours.
    Serve on wooden picks for dipping in sauce.
