Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick margarine
    1/2 c. vegetable shortening
    2 c. sugar
    5 egg yolks
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 pkg. coconut, flaked
    1 c. pecans, chopped
    5 egg whites, beaten
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Combine margarine and shortening.
    Beat well.
    Add sugar and beat until fluffy.
    Add egg yolks one at a time.
    Sift flour and soda together; add alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
    Add vanilla, coconut and pecans.
    Fold in carefully, the beaten egg whites.
    Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
