Mom'S Raisin Creams - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 cups raisins
1 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
3 1/2 cups flour
Preparation

Simmer raisins covered with 1 1/2 to 2 cups water.
Save the liquid.
Dissolve the baking soda in 1 cup of warm liquid from raisins.
Cream shortening and sugar.
Add eggs and blend well. Add liquid alternately with flour.
Fold in raisins.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for about 20 minutes in a large jelly roll pan.
Drizzle with thin powdered sugar icing while warm.
