Best Apple Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

unbaked 9-inch double crust
3/4 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. grated orange peel
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1/8 tsp. salt
5 c. peeled, thinly sliced apples (about 4 large apples)
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
Preparation

Combine sugar, cornstarch, orange peel, spice and salt in a small bowl.
Set aside.
Place apple slices in unbaked pie shell. Sprinkle sugar mixture over apples.
Dot with butter.
Moisten pastry edge with water; cover with top crust.
Flute edge with fingers or fork.
Cut slits or design in top crust for escape of steam.
Bake in preheated 400\u00b0 oven for 40 to 45 minutes.
