Sweet Lime Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. hydrated lime
    2 gal. water
    1 gal. sliced cucumbers
    9 c. sugar
    2 qt. vinegar
    1 tsp. canning salt
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 Tbsp. mixed pickling spices
    1 tsp. whole allspice
Preparation
    Soak sliced cucumbers in lime and water for 24 hours.
    Drain and soak in fresh water for 3 hours. Drain.
    Heat and pour over well drained pickles,
    the sugar, vinegar, salt, celery seed, pickling spices and allspice.
    Soak 24 hours.
    Boil all ingredients for 35 minutes. Can, hot, in sterilized jars.
