New England Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. clams, ground (reserve juice)
    6 medium potatoes, cubed
    1 large onion, chopped
    about 1-inch cube salt pork, chopped
    1 qt. half and half (milk/cream)
    pepper to taste
Preparation
    Cook potatoes in 1/2 clam juice and 1/2 water.
    Add clams just before potatoes are done.
    Cook about 5 minutes.
    Remove half the juice.
