Stella Henson'S Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. plain flour
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    2 1/3 sticks butter, softened
    6 eggs (room temperature)
    1/3 c. buttermilk
    1/4 tsp. soda (add to buttermilk)
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. almond flavoring (optional)
    1 (18 1/2 oz.) pkg. butter flavored cake mix (Duncan Hines)
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 (16 oz.) carton sour cream
    1 (12 oz.) pkg. frozen coconut, thawed
    1 1/2 c. frozen whipped topping, thawed
Preparation
    Prepare cake mix according to package directions, making two 8-inch layers.
    When completely cooled, split both layers (I use a string put around middle of layers and pull together.
    It cuts evenly, no mess.)
