Buttermilk Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    3 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. buttermilk
    3 c. plain flour
    5 large eggs
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Beat together the shortening, sugar and vanilla at high speed until
    mixture resembles ice cream.
    Thoroughly beat in the eggs one
    at a time.
    In a pint measuring cup mix buttermilk
    and soda.
    By
    hand
    stir
    the\tflour
    into the creamed mixture alternately
    with
    buttermilk
    mixture,
    only
    until smooth.
    Turn into
    10-inch tube pan.
    Bake in preheated oven at 325\u00b0
    for
    1 hour and 20 minutes or until tester comes out clean.
    Do not oven oven door.
