2 oz. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. self-rising flour
2 dessert spoons cocoa
1/2 c. milk
vanilla essence
1/2 c. sugar (extra)
2 dessert spoons cocoa (extra)
1 1/2 c. hot water
Preparation

Cream the butter and 1/2 cup of sugar with a few drops of vanilla essence until very light.
Add eggs, one at a time, and fold in the flour, 2 spoons cocoa and milk.
Grease an ovenproof dish and empty the mixture into the dish.
Sprinkle the mixture with the extra sugar and cocoa.
Gently pour on the hot water. Bake in moderate oven for about 30 to 40 minutes.
