Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. boiling water
    1 c. quick oats
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. white sugar
    1 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/3 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over oats; let stand 20 minutes until it gets cold.
    Cream shortening, sugars, eggs and vanilla together. Add flour, salt, soda, cinnamon and chopped nuts to oat mixture. Mix all together and pour into a 9 x 13 x 1-inch pan.
    Bake 30 to 40 minutes at 350\u00b0.
