Scotcheroos - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. light syrup
    1 c. peanut butter
    6 c. Rice Krispies
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate morsels
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. butterscotch morsels or 1 c. each of last 2 ingredients
Preparation
    In a 3-quart saucepan, cook sugar and light syrup over moderate heat until mixture boils.
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in peanut butter.
    Mix in the Rice Krispies.
    Press into a 9 x 13-inch pan and let harden.
    Melt chocolate and butterscotch morsels over hot water (but not boiling water).
    Stir to blend and spread over cereal mixture.
    Chill about 5 minutes until top is firm.
    Cut into bars.
    Makes 48 (2 x 1-inch) bars.
