Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 egg
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    3 c. all-purpose flour
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    1 3/4 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Beat egg and add milk, sugar and vanilla.
    Sift flour and add soda, salt and baking powder.
    Then add a cup of lard.
    Mix well; roll thin and cut.
    Bake in a fairly hot 325\u00b0 or 350\u00b0 oven.
    Makes 5 to 6 dozen.
