Apple Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. rolled oats
    1 c. flour
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. shortening
    7 medium apples, peeled and sliced
Preparation
    Mix first 5 ingredients until crumbly.
    Press half of mixture in 9 x 12-inch pan.
    Put in apples.
    Sprinkle rest of mixture over apples.
    Press lightly.
    Sprinkle top with cinnamon.
    Bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 40 minutes.
    Cool.
    Cut into squares.
