Blackberry Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour
    1 c. buttermilk
    3 eggs
    1 tsp. soda, dissolved in milk
    1 c. blackberry jam
    1 c. cherries (maraschino), chopped
    1 c. pecans, chopped
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Sift flour, sugar and salt.
    Add softened margarine, blackberry jam and beat.
    Then add one egg at a time.
    Continue to beat until well mixed.
    Add the vanilla and buttermilk with the soda.
    Mix and pour into three greased and floured cake pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until barely done and put on racks to cool.
