Molasses Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 c. molasses
    1 2/3 c. flour
    1 c. milk
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Cream shortening, sugar and egg.
    Beat in sorghum molasses. Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with milk.
    Pour into 12 x 8-inch pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
