Mayonnaise Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. dates
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. chopped nuts
    2 c. self-rising flour
    2 egg yolks plus mayonnaise to fill 3/4 c.
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over dates.
    Add soda and let cool.
    Add remaining ingredients as listed.
    Bake in 2 or 3 (9-inch) pans for 25 to 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    When done, the layers will have a dark brown color. Frost with 7 minute frosting.
