Alaskan Spice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. water
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    3/4 c. Crisco
    1 pkg. mincemeat
    3 c. flour
    1/2 c. nuts
    1/2 c. diced apples (optional)
    2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Mix first four ingredients and cook to rolling boil.
    Continue cooking for 3 minutes.
    Stir a few times and set aside to cool. (Must be cold.)
    Then add remaining ingredients to cold mixture. Bake in a tube pan for 60 to 70 minutes at 350\u00b0 to 375\u00b0.
    Cool cake for 1 hour before removing from pan.
