Layered Vegetable Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 head lettuce, shredded
    1 c. chopped celery
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 c. bell pepper
    1 c. shredded carrots
    1 (1 lb.) can sweet peas, drained
    1 1/2 c. mayonnaise
    1 1/2 tsp. sugar
    1 c. grated Parmesan cheese
    4 slices bacon, fried crisp and crumbled
Preparation
    In a 2-quart casserole, layer vegetables in order given. Combine mayonnaise and sugar.
    Pour over vegetables.
    Sprinkle cheese all over, then bacon all over top.
    Chill 8 hours.
