Gingerbread Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. margarine and Crisco, mixed
    1 egg
    1 c. molasses
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. hot water
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add beaten egg, molasses, then dry ingredients which have been sifted together.
    Add hot water last and beat until smooth.
    Batter is soft but makes a fine cake. Bake in greased shallow pan 35 minutes at 350\u00b0.
