French Oven Beef Stew - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 lb. beef cubes (1 1/2-inches)
2 medium onions, cut in 8 pieces
3 stalks celery, cut in diagonal pieces
4 medium carrots, cut in quarters
1 c. tomato juice
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/3 c. quick cooking tapioca
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. basil
2 potatoes, cut in 1/4-inch thick slices
Preparation

Combine all ingredients except potatoes.
Place in a 2 1/2-quart casserole.
Cover and cook for 2 1/2 hours at 275\u00b0.
Add the potatoes.
Cook, covered, for 1 hour more.
Stir occasionally. Serve.
