Vanilla Refrigerator Wafers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1/2 c. margarine
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 1/4 c. powdered sugar
Preparation
    Cream together the butter, margarine and powdered sugar.
    Beat in egg and vanilla.
    Combine flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt; add to creamed mixture.
    Mix well.
    Divide dough in half. Form each half into 2-inch round roll.
    Wrap in waxed paper or aluminum foil.
    Chill in refrigerator or freezer; slice 3/8-inch thick.
    Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
    Cool on rack.
    Makes about 7 dozen.
