Country Swiss Steaks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (4 to 6 lb.) boneless roast beef
    1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
    1 small can tomato juice
    3 Tbsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. black or white pepper
    2 large onions, sliced thin
    1 c. water
    3 c. flour
    2 c. cooking oil
Preparation
    Slice the meat
    into steaks 1-inch thick, 3-inches wide and 5-inches long.
    Place
    the
    cooking
    oil
    in
    a frypan and heat. Roll the steaks
    in the flour.
    Remove and place in the frypan. Cook,
    turning
    occasionally
    until
    done
    and brown. Remove from frypan
    and
    place
    in a roasting pan.
    Cover with onions, tomatoes and tomato juice.
    Cover and bake in preheated 325\u00b0 oven for 2
    to
    2
    1/2
    hours
    or until the steaks are tender.
    Mix 2 tablespoons
    of
    flour
    with a small amount of water.
    Make a smooth mixture and add to the steaks, stirring gently.
    Cook for another
    5
    to 10 minutes and the steaks are ready to serve. Serves 6 to 10 people.
