Betty'S Butter Pecan Ice Cream - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. milk
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1 pt. half and half or cream
    6 eggs
    3 Tbsp. butter flavoring
    2 Tbsp. vanilla flavoring
    pinch of salt
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1/4 c. butter
Preparation
    Melt 1/4 cup butter in oven. Add pecans and roast at 300\u00b0 for about 20 minutes, stirring 2 times. Set aside until needed. Scald milk. Beat eggs. Add sugar and salt. Add egg mixture to milk and cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add half and half or cream, vanilla flavoring and butter flavoring. Let cool. When ready to freeze, pour into freezer and add enough milk to reach fill line. Add roasted pecans. Makes 1 gallon.
