Sunday Supper Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. Crisco or vegetable oil
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    2 c. milk
    1 Tbsp. prepared mustard
    1 c. shredded American cheese
    1/2 lb. diced ham or weiners
    3 c. sliced potatoes
Preparation
    Melt vegetable oil, add onion and cook until tender.
    Stir in flour and salt.
    Add milk and cook over low heat, stirring constantly until thickened and beginning to boil.
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in mustard and cheese.
    Cut or dice ham.
    Arrange alternate layers of potatoes, ham and cheese sauce in 2-quart casserole which has been rubbed with Crisco or sprayed with vegetable oil.
    Top with cheese sauce.
    Bake in slow oven, 325\u00b0 for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
    Serve hot.
    Makes 6 to 8 servings.
