German Soft Pretzels - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 envelopes active dry yeast
1 1/2 c. warm water
1/2 tsp. salt
3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp. baking soda
1/2 c. cold water
coarse salt
Preparation

Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Mix in salt and flour.
Knead dough until smooth.
Let rise 15 minutes. While dough is rising, mix baking soda and cold water together. Roll dough out to 1/2-inch thickness and cut into strips.
Shape into pretzels.
Brush with baking soda solution and sprinkle with coarse salt.
Place pretzels in a greased cookie sheet.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
Serve with cheese sauce, hot mustard or plain.
