Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. self-rising meal
    3/4 c. flour
    1 pkg. dry yeast
    1 onion, finely chopped
    1 can cream-style corn
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Mix dry ingredients together.
    Add corn a little at a time. You want this mixture to be thick enough to drop from a spoon. Sometimes I don't use the entire can of corn.
    After mixing the corn, add onion; onion is optional.
    I use ice cream scoop and drop a small amount, maybe a tablespoonful, into hot oil and let them brown lightly.
    Do not have the oil too hot or they will be raw in the center.
    This recipe makes enough to serve from 4 to 6 people.
