Refrigerator Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 eggs
    1 c. molasses
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    4 c. flour
Preparation
    Cream together the sugar and shortenings.
    Add molasses.
    Add eggs, beating well.
    Mix flour, baking powder, soda, salt and ginger.
    Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk.
    Store in refrigerator until ready to use.
    Make 2 (8 x 8-inch) pans. Will keep in the refrigerator for 2 weeks.
    Microwave 5 minutes or until almost done on High.
    Let stand 10 minutes directly on countertop (cake will continue to cook).
    In regular oven, bake at 350\u00b0 for about 40 minutes.
