Fresh Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 baked 9-inch pie shell
    1 1/2 qt. fresh strawberries
    1/2 c. water
    1 c. sugar
    2 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    red food coloring
Preparation
    Wash and hull strawberries, drain well. Put 1 quart of berries in refrigerator to chill.
    Brush 1/2 quart of berries well.
    Blend with sugar, cornstarch and water.
    Carefully heat to boiling in heavy saucepan.
    Boil 2 minutes and strain, if desired.
    Add batter and food coloring.
    Fill pastry shell with chilled berries and pour cooked glaze mixture over top.
    Chill about 4 hours.
    Top with whipped cream and serve.
