Strawberry Custard Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sugar, divided
6 Tbsp. cornstarch, divided
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. milk
2 egg yolks, lightly beaten
1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 baked 9-inch pie shell
1 c. water, divided
1 Tbsp. liquid red food coloring
6 c. fresh strawberries, halved
sweetened whipping cream and fresh strawberries (garnish)
Preparation

In a saucepan, combine 2/3 cup sugar, 4 tablespoons cornstarch and salt; stir in milk.
Bring to a boil over medium heat.
Cook stirring constantly, 1 minute.
(Let mixture come to a boil slowly; when cooking after boiling has begun, it will begin to thicken.)
