Jenny'S Apple Short Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 Tbsp. sugar (and extra to sprinkle on top of apples)
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. butter (and extra to dot over top of apples)
    cinnamon to shake over top of apples
    milk (enough to make biscuit like dough)
    2 cans sliced apples, drained (not apple pie filling!)
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients in bowl.
    Cut in butter to resemble size of peas.
    Add only enough milk to resemble biscuit dough.
    Spread dough with hands or fork into jelly roll pan; cover bottom evenly and up sides.
    Cover with rows of apples; overlapping so all apples are covering dough.
    Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and dot with butter.
    Bake in 375 to 400 degree oven.
    Watch carefully so edges don't burn - approximate time is 25 to 30 minutes.
    Serve with ice cream, hard sauce *, or whipped topping.
