Minnesota Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    shredded lettuce
    4 to 5 stalks celery, sliced
    4 to 5 scallions, sliced
    1 can sliced water chestnuts, drained
    1 box frozen peas
Preparation
    Layer ingredients in order given.
    Cover with 1 cup mayonnaise to which you have added 1 tablespoon sugar.
    Let sit 8 hours or overnight in refrigerator.
    Just before serving, smother with Parmesan cheese and top with crumbled bacon.
