Dan'S Favorite Herbed Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 medium sized baking potatoes
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1/4 c. half and half
    3 oz. Gruyere, grated (1 1/2 c.)
    3 Tbsp. coarsely chopped fresh chives
    dash of nutmeg
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Scrub potatoes but do not peel them.
    Quarter.
    In a large pot of boiling water, boil the potatoes for 10 to 15 minutes, or until tender when pierced with a fork.
    Drain and coarsely mash the potatoes with the butter, half and half, 1 1/4 cups of the cheese, chives and nutmeg.
    Season to taste.
    Spread potatoes evenly in a buttered 8 x 10-inch or oval baking dish.
    Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top and heat for 15 minutes in a preheated 350\u00b0 oven. Brown the top under a broiler and serve.
