Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. jam
    1 c. sour milk
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 eggs, unbeaten
    1 c. raisins
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Sift flour once, then measure.
    Add dry ingredients; sift 3 times.
    Cream sugar and shortening well.
    Add eggs, milk, jam and raisins.
    Mix lightly and pour in two 9-inch square pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 approximately 45 minutes.
