Meatless Spaghetti Sauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 c. olive oil
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 small dried hot red chili, crushed
1 or 2 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
1 (14 1/2 oz.) can Italian-style tomatoes
1 Tbsp. capers
1/4 tsp. oregano leaves
1 (16 oz.) can tomato sauce
1/4 c. slivered ripe olives
little garlic powder for more flavor
Preparation

Heat olive oil in a wide frying pan over medium heat.
Add onion and chili and cook until onion is soft.
Mix in garlic, tomatoes with their liquid (break up with spoon), tomato sauce, olives, capers and oregano.
Adjust heat so that mixture boils gently.
Cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, until sauce is slightly thickened (15 to 20 minutes).
Use over spaghetti or any pasta.
